Matt Lambert is the chef-owner of 1 Michelin starred, The Musket Room in New York. This New Zealander was so passionate in becoming a chef that he tried to secure an apprenticeship at age 11. He went on to cultivate his culinary skills through working with various restaurants to even opening a cafe. Following stints in PUBLIC and Saxon + Parole in New York, he received his first Michelin star just 4 months into opening his restaurant.
Matt defines his dishes as modern New Zealand that combines classical techniques with Asian flavours. He believes in amplifying the natural flavours of the ingredients and creating dishes that are clean and balanced.
